The Stirling Field & Archaeological Society (SFAS) traces its origins to the Stirling Field Club, founded in 1878.
Our purpose is to promote interest in the archaeology and natural history of the Stirling area.
We do this by organising relevant talks and visits, and by facilitating participation in excavations, surveys etc.

We meet in St Ninians Old Parish Halls for the talks, which run from October to March on the second Tuesday in each month, at 7.30pm.
On the same Tuesdays from April to September we meet at 6.30pm at Castleview car park before visiting local sites of interest.
On some Saturdays we meet at 9.30am to visit more distant places.
Our outings are planned in conjunction with our two excavations. Currently, each lasts one week plus both weekends.
Non-members are welcome at the talks, outings and excavations. They are all free, but voluntary donations are always appreciated.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
The summer and winter programmes for the year are available to download.

You may join at any meeting, outing or dig. There is only one grade of membership costing £15 pp for the year commencing on 1stApril.
An application form can be downloaded here, but payment can only be made in person by cash or cheque.
Participation in our outings and excavations is on the understanding that you do so at your own risk.
Any enquiries should be addressed to the secretary at sfandarcsoc@gmail.com.
