The Stirling Field & Archaeological Society has been preserving and promoting Stirling’s extraordinary archaeological and historical heritage since 1878. As a registered Scottish charity run entirely by volunteers, we depend on the generosity of people who share our passion for the past.

Your donation — no matter the size — directly supports our work: from organising public lectures, excavations and guided field visits, to conserving and digitising irreplaceable archive materials, and making the societies rich history accessible to everyone.

What Your Donation Funds

  • Public lectures and talks — bringing leading archaeologists and historians to Stirling throughout the winter season, free and open to all.
  • Summer field visits and excursions — guided visits to archaeological sites, historic buildings, and landscapes across Stirlingshire and beyond.
  • Excavation support - Equipment, professional support and find analysis
  • Archive preservation — digitising and cataloguing over a century of field notebooks, photographs, maps, and correspondence so they can be shared with researchers and the public.
  • Educational outreach — making Stirling’s heritage accessible to schools, community groups, and visitors.

  • Become a member — annual membership is just £15 and gives you full access to our events, archive, and members’ area.
