SUMMARY:Doune Ponds Nature Reserve
DESCRIPTION:The site extends to 40 acres\, and a lot of work has gone into 
 improving the ponds since we were last there\, including a walkway over th
 e main pond. The west pond is home to a heron\, as well as moorhens and co
 ots. Coppicing\, new tree planting and the introduction of wildflowers has
  created a more diverse habitat for a range of water birds\, fish\, frogs 
 and even red squirrels.
